We’re a fast-growing, PE-backed healthcare company seeking a part-time HR Manager (estimated 5–10 hours per week) to help us stay organized, compliant, and efficient as we scale. Hours may increase over time as the company grows. This role is ideal for a take-charge HR generalist with exceptional judgment, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of being extremely reliable and responsive, even in a part-time capacity. This person must have hands-on experience with Gusto and feel confident jumping into a dynamic environment with hiring, compliance, systems, and people-related projects. Key Responsibilities: Hiring & Onboarding - Assist with recruiting & vetting candidates - Draft and manage employment agreements - Coordinate onboarding and systems access Employee Relations & Performance Support - Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and day-to-day issues - Provide support and guidance on employee performance concerns, documentation, and terminations as needed - Help ensure fair, compliant, and consistent application of company policies Systems & Compliance - Gusto: Monitor for reimbursement requests, confirm EIN accuracy, ensure proper account naming - Track & register state payroll taxes - Support document archiving (tax, payroll, HR compliance) Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Oversight - Help monitor compensation/benefits spend and compare against Gusto and QBO - Weekly and YTD spend checks by employee, department, and total - Track bonus schedules, withholding, and equity/benefits Policies & Documentation - Drive updates to Time Off and Expense policies (including travel limits, receipts, business purposes) - Collaborate on updates to our Employee Handbook and internal HR documentation - Monitor Glassdoor and support review strategy HR Infrastructure & Ops - Organize HR folders - Maintain benefit documentation and employee records - Lead Gusto-driven updates (e.g., name updates, payroll setup changes) - Provide market comps for roles as needed Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience - Must have hands-on experience with Gusto - Strong knowledge of HR best practices, compliance, and policy development - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills - High responsiveness (even as a part-time contractor) - Strong communication and confidentiality Bonus: Familiarity with healthcare, startups, or scaling companies Hours: Estimated at 5–10 hours per week to start, with potential to grow as the company scales and needs increase.
