Location: Remote (U.S.-Based) Job Type: Part-Time ***8 hour week Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience About Us We are a dynamic and growing property management and construction firm looking for a skilled Bookkeeper with expertise in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Our team values accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism, and we seek a financial expert who can support our operations with strong bookkeeping skills and industry knowledge. Job Overview The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience in the construction or property management industries. They should be proficient in accounting software such as Buildium or AppFolio and have a deep understanding of GAAP principles. This role will involve managing financial records, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and preparing reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple properties/projects Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial transactions Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations Oversee job costing, budgeting, and expense tracking for projects Handle monthly and year-end closing procedures Assist with audits and tax preparation by maintaining organized records Collaborate with property managers, contractors, and vendors to track expenses and income Utilize Buildium, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar property management accounting software Qualifications & Skills: ✔ Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience in construction or property management ✔ Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting best practices ✔ Proficiency in Buildium, AppFolio, or QuickBooks is required ✔ Experience with job costing, budgeting, short-term rental accounting, and financial reporting ✔ Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in financial record-keeping ✔ Excellent communication and organizational skills ✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively ✔ Knowledge of tax compliance, payroll processing, and vendor management is a plus ✔ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Why Join Us?
