We are seeking an experienced criminal defense attorney or paralegal specializing in post-conviction relief and appellate work in California. The case currently requires a review of its status after being remanded to the Court of Appeal, fifth district, by the California Supreme Court. We have been working on several legal arguments and we are looking to have those reviewed and their merits determined. Required Skills & Experience: • Ability to file legal documents within California. • Proficient in Research & Writing: Capable of conducting thorough legal research, analyzing complex legal issues, and drafting persuasive legal briefs and motions. • Strong Communication & Advocacy: Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate for the client's interests. Responsibilities: • Advise the client on available legal options. • Draft and file necessary motions, including a Motion for Judgment of Acquittal and other relevant motions. • Prepare and file a comprehensive supplemental brief addressing all pertinent legal issues. • Advocate for the client's interests before the Court of Appeal. • Communicate effectively with the client and provide regular updates throughout the process.
