This involves reviewing documentation, identifying patterns of misconduct, and helping structure the narrative for potential legal and media exposure. Responsibilities: Analyze case documents, legal filings, FOIA records, and other evidence related to civil rights violations. Identify patterns of government misconduct, retaliation, or systemic abuse. Assist in structuring the story for legal, journalistic, or public awareness purposes. Provide insights on how similar cases have been reported or litigated. Recommend potential media outlets, advocacy groups, or legal experts who might be interested. Ideal Candidate: ✔ Experience in investigative journalism (preferably covering civil rights, government misconduct, or legal injustices). ✔ Strong legal research and document analysis skills. ✔ Knowledge of FOIA processes, whistleblower cases, or law enforcement oversight. ✔ Ability to write compelling narratives based on complex legal or bureaucratic events. ✔ Comfortable working with sensitive and confidential information. Preferred Background: Journalists who have worked on civil rights cases, wrongful convictions, police abuse, or federal overreach. Experience working with nonprofits, advocacy groups, or legal teams. Strong understanding of how to present investigative findings for legal and media impact.
