We’re building a proprietary system to manage a curated set of resumes and allow users to search candidates, ask live questions, contact the recruiter, or buy individual resumes directly. The system must be modular, scalable, and designed for constant resume rotation (new candidates uploaded monthly, old ones archived). Critical: We must fully own all data, all user queries, and all user behavior insights. What Needs to Be Built: • Database to store resumes, extracted metadata, and user query logs • File storage for resumes (cloud-based preferred) • Resume ingestion pipeline: upload → extract text → extract metadata • Admin portal to upload, manage, and search resumes • Query system: users can ask questions and compare candidates • Usage tracking system: detect “power users” based on query behavior • Registration wall: require sign-up after heavy usage • “Contact Recruiter” button always visible — simple lead form • “Buy Resume” button always visible — attached to each candidate, triggers fast payment flow • LLM integration: • Process resumes once at upload • Avoid live re-reading unless explicitly triggered • Swappable LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models) Must Design For: • Freshness: new resumes rotated monthly, old resumes archived or deactivated • Minimal ongoing LLM costs: structured data extracted once, database-first querying • Fast querying and comparisons between candidates without hitting LLMs constantly • Full logging of all user prompts and system usage • Modular architecture, no vendor lock-in • Clean, simple, fast UX
