​Volta Strategies is a small, mission-driven marketing agency for solar and energy efficiency companies. We’re best known for helping clients grow profitably by doing more business through word-of-mouth and digital marketing. We’re looking for an expert-level copywriter and web designer who can produce engaging, SEO-friendly content for our clients’ websites, newsletters, and social media platforms. Responsibilities - Write and edit headlines and text to position content for maximum engagement on our clients’ websites, email newsletters, and social media accounts. - Design and create engaging and user-friendly landing pages and blog posts using WordPress (Elementor and BeaverBuilder) and Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 platforms. - Apply basic coding skills (including HTML and CSS) to enhance the design elements of digital content. - Find and edit images or oversee the creation of visual assets to accompany written content. - Optimize content, including both written copy and visual elements, to deliver on clients’ priorities (e.g. search rankings, conversions). - Meet goals, deadlines, and other performance standards established by the Managing Editor at Volta Strategies. Requirements - Portfolio of published articles or relevant work samples. - Excellent writing and editing skills in English. - An ability to fact-check and proofread long-form content pieces. - Demonstrated success implementing SEO best practices to improve rankings and conversions (ideally for local businesses; double-ideally for home services businesses). - Experience with content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Squarespace) and digital publishing tools. - Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - A degree in marketing, English, journalism, or a related field is not required but is a plus. Details - This is a six-month contract position with the possibility of extension. - You will work remotely and set your own hours, as long as you meet the deadlines and quality standards. - You will report to the Managing Editor and collaborate with other content creators and web designers.
