Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT System Administrator who is located near Charlotte, North Carolina to join our team and provide dedicated onsite support to one of our key clients. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Managed IT Services, thrives in dynamic environments, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service while resolving day-to-day IT issues. This role requires a balanced skill set in IT help desk support, networking, cybersecurity, and Microsoft 365 administration. You will act as the primary IT point of contact at the client site, working closely with end users and coordinating with our broader remote IT operations team. Key Responsibilities Serve as the onsite IT administrator, supporting users at the client location with hardware, software, network, and account-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 support issues, escalating to remote Tier 3 engineers when necessary. Provide hands-on support for workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, VoIP phones, and other IT assets. Perform Microsoft 365 administration, including user provisioning, mailbox management, SharePoint access, Teams configuration, and security settings. Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls. Monitor and support endpoint protection tools and cybersecurity controls in line with best practices and compliance requirements. Track and document issues using a professional ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and communication with users. Support IT onboarding/offboarding, including device setup, account configuration, and access management. Collaborate with remote network operations and security operations teams to address complex issues and complete project work. Assist with IT asset management, procurement, patching, and documentation. Proactively identify opportunities for improving IT processes and the user experience at the client site. Required Qualifications LOCATED NEAR CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA 3+ years of hands-on experience in a System Administrator or IT Support role, preferably within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. Strong knowledge of Windows OS (10/11, Server 2016/2019) and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, etc.). Experience supporting and configuring Fortigate network devices (firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi access points) Working understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection tools, MFA, and security patching. Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude. Proficient in using IT ticketing systems (e.g., AutoTask). Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with non-technical users. Must be able to lift/move IT equipment and perform physical tasks onsite as needed. Reliable transportation for daily commute to the client site.
